America’s Best Nursing Homes 2026 highlights the nation’s top 1200 nursing homes out of 14,752 analyzed. The evaluation is based on the following four pillars: performance data, peer recommendations, accreditations and resident satisfaction. Per size category, nursing homes in the 25 states with the highest number of facilities, according to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services were considered in the study, resulting in a total of 33 states awarded. Included are single branches of nursing homes with at least 50 certified beds, which are not part of the Specialty Focus Facility program.
